( REGISTRATION)
Alright, so first of all, you need to register with your character's first & last name in proper capitalization, please. You can change your name after you register in the 'Modify Profile' section. Or ask a staff
member, we'll be happy to help =)
You need to do your application above anything! Do NOT post in claims -face claim is an exception as we do allow reservations- before you post your application. Post it in th 'Pending Applications' Section, please.
Please talk to us! That is what the C-BOX is for! We are very sociable here at Down the Road, and we are welcoming to all new members, so don't be shy!
( C-BOX)
So, here's the deal. Don't go advertising in the C-BOX! Seriously, that is what the advertising board is for. Don't worry, people will see it if they want to, I can tell you that.
No fighting! Guys, really, be mature. Don't act like six year olds and fight over stupid things. I've seen and heard them enough to know that they are annoying. If there is any problem, please speak to a staff member and we'll try to figure it out.
Remember: Don't be shy! We LOVE to chat with you! Just make sure to follow this rules or your I.P. will be temporarily suspended.
( ROLEPLAYING)
First things first, sex & drugs WILL happen, that is understood. But, there is one exception, no rated X things and no roleplaying these things out explicitly. The Proboards ToS strictly prohibit that, and I really dont want to lose the site because of a breach. If you are roleplaying a NON-EXPLICIT scene with sex/violence/drugs/etc. please make sure to matk your thread title. Also, fade-into-black works really well for some of these things. Cursing
is unlimited and you don't need to put it in the title.
There is no limit to how many words you type! The more the better, but there is a minimum of how many you NEED to type. 2-3 WELL written paragraphs are required, which translates to 200 words MINIMUM. Yeah, yeah we understand writers block and all that jazz, but that is only once in a while, kay?
Do not, do not, do not reply to a post that someone spent 2 hours on, and post 1 clumsy paragraph. It is very unfair, and it will be deleted by the admins. Always use the rule of reciprocation to the best of your ability.
Remember spell check! Grammar check! We are very picky people. Capatilization is one of the musts. We don't mean to be nagging asses, BUT it is just a pet-peave of most people. Also, please post in PAST-TENSE, 3RD PERSON. It's very confusing when the entire post is in first person; I understand thoughts and parts of the post, but the whole thing throws lots of people off. Thanks.
( CHARACTERS)
There is no limit on how many characters you can have. But you must put them ALL on different accounts. It gets confusing for some people, even if it isn't confusing for you, be considerate.
Please do not whine if the face claim you wanted is taken. We don't want to hear it. You can PM the person and ask them if you want to be twins.. or.. you're out of luck. It isn't the end of the universe if you don't have the face you want, and if you look here, there are lots of pb'swith HQ pictures. Put that to use, you never know, you might just find someone you like.
No Mary-Sue's or Gary-Sue's allowed. ALL people have flaws and your characters have to too!
As this is a Harry Potter RPG, there are going to be creatures with some unusual powers. Please do not go overboard with those and sign up in the Special Powers Claim. Also, this power must be mentioned in the application too, unless it was acquired through some event that happened while rp-ing. Eg. a werewolf bit your character, now she's a werewolf, etc.
Graphic limits: 500x500 for signatures. If that is exceeded, a staff member will contact you about it, but we really don't want to, so keep it within the limits, please. Oh, and our avatar limits are 200x300. Just be sure not to exceed that.
( ACTIVITY)
Can you please, please, please stay active? We cannot stress this enough, it is okay if you have to go on vacation or something like that, but don't just dissapear, post on the leaving forum or the talk forum, please. We'll think you died if you don't tell us!
And that just makes for a very depressed Lillian! No fun at all x.xWe will have activity checks probably every month, maybe not. Sometimes, they will be spontaneous. If you miss an activity check, we will send out an email; if you don't reply within three days we will
