"Demitri, you're coming with me."
When Demitri heard those words come out of a man like Rodolphus Lestrange, his heart leaped at the idea. Rodolphus Lestrange was such a good man in the Death Eaters circle than Demitri wanted to be just like him. Demitri was even saving newspaper cutouts detailing how the silly aurors couldn't even find the man.
Demitri's heart lurched as he listened to Rodolphus, listening to every word. He failed him before when he defended his stupid sister, being punished rightly for even thinking about defending Deena. Demitri swore, there was no way he shared a womb with that silly girl for nine months.
Demitri looked at Tara, the girl who was assigned to the job with him. She wasn't ugly or anything. They could get along if they wanted to. Demitri folded his arms, shaking his head. Damnit, they had a job to do. There was no time to look at the 'Cute' girls. He was better than that.
"Master." Demitri knew he was laying it on thick but he didn't care.
"Who is this family? Why are we all the way in Canada?" He sniffed the air.
"I can smell the maple syrup already."

Tara listened carefully, and nodded her understanding to Rod. She could do this, right? It wasn't as though she'd have to torture anyone herself; she knew that she kind of sucked at that. She could handle that. Just guard the perameter. That was simple.
Simple. She could handle simple. It wasn't as though she was clumsy. She didn't trip over lines of latitude, the way some of her former schoolmates had. She could actually stay mostly quiet, even if she was prone to babbling to people she didn't know very well. She just had to make sure she didn't start talking to them in order ofr that to not happen.
Watch the parameter. Make sure no one got in that wasn't supposed to. She could do that.
Right?
She'd been completely freaked out when she'd been chosen by Rodolphus LeStrange for this. Now, she wasn't quite as freaked out over the job. But she was still extremely worried that she was going to do something to mess things up for them.
Tara cast a sideways look at Demetri, trying to make sense of him. "Does anybody else feel the need to sing 'Oh, Canada!' or is it just me?"

Tara nodded solemnly, listening to Rod's isntructions.
Tara knew loyalty. She was a Hufflepuff, after all. The people you were loyal to were the people who had earned it. People earned your loyalty by protecting you, or trusting you to do something that no one else hadn't.
Rodolpus Le Strange scared the pee out of her. He simply did.
But he was also trusting her to do something that no one else had allowed her to do. Moreover, he had picked her to do it.
So she would be damned if she'd fail him in this. And after tonight, terrifying as he might be to her, all he would have to do is ask and her wand was at his command.
...Even if it was against his wife, who was far scarier than he was.
