Lithe and muscular, athletic in build; he's average height, and slim. His brown hair is always cropped very close to his skull. His eyes are a light cornflower blue, but when he's angry they turn a blue grey color. He's got multiple scars on his body from various fights he's been in. He has an impish face, almost always wears an expression of either seriousness or mischief. Three tattoos, no piercings, and he prefers to wear military style clothing. The clothing is a habit he picked up living in a military family. Mostly he wears black t-shirts, black combat boots, and black cargo pants. Sometimes the cargos are exchanged for jeans, and when he's feeling fancy, a black cashmere sweater or a black button down with dress pants. He owns very little clothing that isn't black or army green and khaki.

Overall Personality:
Ronan is a strong and quiet man usually. He's intelligent and prefers to observe those around him and find out what makes them tick. He sticks to the shadows, his training making stealth and secrecy necessary in many parts of his life. He's only outspoken when he feels it's necessary to make his point, never one to waste words. He's smart, loyal, and brave, qualities one would expect in a MTAT Auror. His militaristic background makes his decision making process about the good of the many and not the few. Often at Order meetings he is the one pushing to the more volatile and less forgiving answer, believing that very few people deserve second chances. He loves his family, muggles though they may be, and often fears for their safety. His loyalty is unflappable, and nothing could make him betray his family, friends, or a cause he finds worthy. He has a good sense of humor, but rarely lets anyone in on it. Because he's a man of few words, he tends to be mistaken for a man of mystery. He wouldn't be a mystery if anyone had the guts to just ask him the questions they had. He prefers being open and honest about the things that don't have to be kept secret.

History:
Ronan Ari Gray, born November 18, grew up thinking that magic was nonsense. He came from a muggle family, military in nature. His father, and all of his fathers before him had been military men. strict order and clean precision were the rules of the house. But even with the strict atmosphere, he had a fun childhood. He was never told that magic and the like existed, in fact he was told quite often that it did not. Deep down in the core of his bones he had always known that it was there, waiting to be unleashed, for him to reach out and touch it. The magic world was there, he simply couldn't see it.

Never once did he admit that he though magic was real, not to anyone. He'd seen strange things, done strange things, but from the lips of a child they sounded like funny little made up stories, non-sense to but patronizingly smiled away. Even when he turned eleven and received his letter, he pretended to think that it was rubbish. Three or four letters were sent to him before he, and his parents and brothers, would admit that something very odd indeed was going on, and that maybe there was something to this Hogwarts.

Eventually, of course, the simple fact that he was a wizard was proven, and Ronan found himself taken away to this strange new world. The strict military life was gone, and in its place 9 months out of 12, a magical one had appeared. He took to Hogwarts like a fish to water, an observant young boy and quick to pick up on the things that others missed. He was very clever, and it was this cleverness that had him sent to Ravenclaw house. Gryffindor was where he thought he'd be put, in the house of the brave and loyal, so he was very surprised indeed to find himself living in the land of the bookworm. His brothers thought this very funny when they found out. As it turned out, he did find more friends in Gryffindor than he did in Ravenclaw.

In his third year, Ronan made the quidditch team as a chaser. He was good at the sport, but when the time came and a professional try-out was offered, he declined. Ronan had always dreamed of following in his father's and brothers's footsteps. By his sixth year, Ronan's father had been promoted yet again, and both of his brothers had enlisted. Ronan wanted to join the military and use his particular talents to help people. As there was no real magic military, Ronan found himself enrolling as an Auror trainee when he graduated. He soon was instated as a full Auror, moved to MTAT, Magical Tactics Assault Team, and very recently promoted to the leader of the unit he works with. He's a tough guy, very good at his job, and strong both magically and physically. His brothers saw fit to teach him to fight, all the tricks they learned in the military and then some, and he had top marks in Hogwarts especially with the practical portions of the tests. All this made him a stronger fighter, a stronger warrior, as his father was oft to call military men.

Ronan joined the Order of the Phoenix recently, and is glad the group exists, but he believes that they have a duty to do more than sneak about gathering information. He's one of the few who isn't afraid to breach the topic of more invasive and violent methods. He is practical to a T, always concerned with the good of all witches and wizards than the good of the few, himself included, who might die in order to preserve the world they live in. His muggle origins have yet to come up at work, but soon he's sure Lucius Malfoy's cronies will begin breathing down his neck. He guards his past and his family as well he can, and keeps secret his involvement with the Order. More than to keep his family safe it was a moral decision to join the Order and help in the fight any way he could.
