Peter Pettigrew was never much of anything. Throughout his life he has always been very dependant and extremley socially awkward. He never knew when he was supposed to laugh, and the jokes he tried to tell were always far from funny. Though many believed that he did have friends, Peter never felt truly accepted by the other Marauders. He was always the butt of their jokes, and for the longest time he wasn't even aware. Peter Pettigrew hurts like a dying man. He has spent his entire life feeling dreadfully alone, and never being wanted anywhere he went.
As most could say, Peter is a bit of a coward. He is afraid of dying, the thought of just not being scares him to death. Mainly because he knows that no one will ever miss him. Throughout his life, Peter always wanted to do something worth mentioning, he wanted to be that person that people would talk about with a star in their eyes. He wanted to be smart like Remus, funny like Sirius, fierce like Lily, and brave like James. Instead, he was always the shadow. If there is one thing that Peter is good at, it's being a shadow. Because of this, Peter allies himself with the strongest side of an argument or war.
When he loves, and he does love, he loved with everything he has. Actually, he can be a bit clingy, and very easy to manipulate and fool. Peter's softest spot is his heart, if you can convince him that by doing one thing he'll be doing something great - even if it's something truly terrible, he'll do it in a heartbeat.

Peter Pettigrew had no upsetting history so far as his family went. His parents were more than happy to welcome him to the family, they always took care of him, and practially spoiled him by buying him anything that he could ever dream of. Peter never really had to work for anything a day in his life. He never had to fight with his parents, never had to sneak out - life at home was paradise.
Peter first met Sirius and James on the train ride to Hogwarts for the first time. There was a group of older Slytherins who were teasing him because he was so small, and Sirius and James took it upon themselves to stand up for him and just like that - they had accepted Peter into their little group. It didn't take long however, for Peter to realize where he actually stood in that group of friends. As the four grew older, Sirius, James and Remus grew more and more attractive - Peter stayed mousy and small, it was like he was stuck in time. His friends were doing amazing things, breaking the law, and Peter just followed. He was the very last in his group to learn how to become and Animagus, and even then - being a rat wasn't very helpful when you're trying to tame a Werewolf, and he was constantly stuck on Watch Duty. Just another pointless thing he always had to do.
In his 5th year, Peter Pettigrew met her. Emilie Cosette, Amelia Cosette's aunt. He fell for her, even though she was a Slytherin, friends with those that were always giving him a hard time. She seduced him easily, and it didn't take long to tug him away from the other Marauders. His heart had always been vulnerable. Her words and promises were tempting him constantly, she pointed out things to him that he had never noticed. Emilie Cosette caused the rift in the Marauders. She told Peter how the other three never really cared for him, how they would never do for him the things that he would do for them without question. She told him that they would prefer a life without him. And like a child, he bought every word and more. Emilie's manipulative ways planted a seed at the back of Peter's mind.
After graduation, Emilie joined the Dark Lord, and Peter joined up with his friends and the Order of the Pheonix. Things were stable. And then, the prophecy came, and the Potters were in danger. Despite his marriage to Sofie Watson, despite their lovely daughter who was hardly a year old... Emilie came back in like a bat in the middle of the night. She found that old seed she had planted at Hogwarts and she watered it with a few easy words and a couple seductive kisses. Peter Pettigrew became a stranger. He joined the Dark Lord at this time, he let his wife die and his daughter go missing to who knew where... And he allowed James and Lily Potter to die because of him. He didn't even stop there, Peter killed 12 muggles that same night, and he framed Sirius for those murders as well as his own. He lived out his life as a mouse in the Weasley household. They were probably the only people who actually cared for him, and they didn't even know he was human.
When Sirius and Remus exposed him for what he was, Peter was screwed. He was set out with no place to go, and in need of protection he once again found himself at the side of the Dark Lord. Peter played a key role in bringing the Dark Lord back to life, killing Cedric Diggory during the Triwizard Tournament. Peter hates who he has become, he hates his life. He knows that it could have been better, but a series of bad mistakes have planted him in the worst position ever. And he has no way out, though he'd kill to find one.

Peter stood, stock still, listening to what Emilie was saying. She brought up good points, but he couldn't possible allow himself to believe that his friends would lie to him to get a laugh out of his humiliation. Of course, that had never stopped them when it came to Snape, what they had done to him was something they would have done to Snape as well. But... no. The whole Masquerade incident was Peter's fault, he was the one who had heard them wrong, not the other way around. There was no way that the Marauders would have done that to him.
Besides, what did she even mean when she said that he could do better? Peter didn't feel as sure about that as she sounded. The Marauders were really the only ones who spoke to him, if not always on an equal level, but at least they kept him includded. Sometimes. Yeah, there were times where he was out of the loop... and he was always the last in the know, but that didn't mean they didn't think of him any less then they thought of the others. It was no secret that James and Sirius just got along super well, but that didn't mean that Peter didn't along with them either.
When Emilie leaned foward, hovering infront of Peter's lips, her breathe catching his own in a sort of trap... Peter could have moved forward and caught her. But just in the second that she was so close to kissing him, she had moved back. He felt every fight in him seem to melt into her arms around his neck, giving in easier then he'd ever want to admit. But.... it wasn't every day that a pretty girl like Emilie Rimes was so close to him. He didn't know just what she was talking about, holding him back and all that. He didn't think that he could do better, he pretty much believed that being with the Marauders was the best it could get. But, it wasn't like he'd tried everything, was it?
Peter moved down slowly, pausing awkwardly above her lips for a second, before with a sigh of almost defeat, he caught her lips.
