Hermione Granger has a one of a kind personality. She is extremely smart and has a great sense of humour, but that’s only once you get to know her. At first she comes off a bit bossy and hard to please, which she – as much as she tries to deny it—is, to some degree at least. She is extremely stubborn, never wavering once she’s made up her mind about something. She’s also one to hold a grudge at times, but she does have some of her priorities straight and she knows when to put her feelings behind her and focus on the task at hand.
Hermione is nice though, despite many people’s belief. She is very compassionate, sticking up for the underdog whenever she can. She does have her bitter moments, but she’s still a lovely person when you get down to it. Her smarts make it very easy to hold conversation with her -if you can find something in common – and she loves making new friends. She is very opinionated and very quick to explode though, so be careful where you tread.

Being muggleborn definitely has it’s downsides and it’s upsides. Hermione was born to Muggle dentists John and Lenore Granger, a rather tight laced pair who lived in utter harmony with one another. It was obvious Hermione inherited their smarts, walking and talking earlier than most her age. Her parents were very pleased that their only child was, for all technical purposes, a prodigy. They did all they could to nurture her, and she grew to love school and learning.
Muggle school was hard for Hermione, who was rather bossy and a know it all. She never made many friends, but her teachers always loved having her. She was okay with that, even if it did get her down a bit. When she started getting older strange things would happen. Nothing major, but occasionally a pencil would float up when she’d lost it or a book’s pages would turn itself. It was odd to say the least. It all began to fall into place when a representative for Hogwarts showed up with her letter, explaining to both she and her parents that she was a witch. Hermione was delighted! She was almost twelve when she first boarded the train to Hogwarts.
It was on that train that she met Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Of course she knew all about Harry Potter, having read most of her books by that time, but it took much longer for she and Ron to become civil, and even longer to become friends. Still, they formed a trio that was nearly inseparable, particularly when they were all sorted into Gryffindor. Through the years Hermione has made it clear that she will stick with Harry through the end, even if it means sacrificing an A+ here or there.
