Today many mourn the death of a beloved teacher, wizard, leader, and man. Albus Dumbledore, age 115, died this past Sunday in what is slowly becoming known as the Bloody Sunday Battle. A strategic offensive strategized by the Ministry and elusive Order of the Pheonix to attack the forces of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's growing army, the battle acheived its purpose in capturing and depleting much of His followers. It surpassed its expected success when the evil wizard was killed at the hands of our very own Mistress of Magic, Amelia Cosette.
Sadly, however, Albus Dumbledore is suspected of having sacrificed his own life to make this tremendous event possible. Eye witness accouts cannot say who eactly threw the Killing Curse that killed the legendary wizard, but this correspondent has been assured that several suspects are beinng investigated.
What can only be though of as a bittersweet moment in the wizarding world has come to pass - we have lost Dumbledore, but his sacrifice has helped gain us freedom from dark forces. His memory will be remembered by all fondly. When asked to comment on the death of her colleage and friend, Professor Minerva McGonagall stated simply "He was a great man, a great friend, and shall be sorely missed in the coming days."
Albus Dumbledore's acheivements were vast, having lived a long and varried life, and his name will live on in legend for years to come. His funeral will take place Saturday on the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy grounds, followed by a small gathering of close friends and family.
From all of us, here at the Daily Prophet, we thank you Albus Dumbledore, for your years of work and sacrifice to make our world a safer one.
