Name: Nymphadora
Tonks was named by her mother and she absolutely hates her name, which is why she prefers to go by Tonks instead of her first name.
Nymph is a noun and it means: (classical mythology) a minor nature goddess usually depicted as a beautiful maiden, "the ancient Greeks believed that nymphs inhabited forests and bodies of water"
a larva of an insect with incomplete metamorphosis (as the dragonfly or mayfly)
a voluptuously beautiful young woman.
Dora means simply: From the Greek meaning Gift.
Nickname:DOra
Tonks, as stated above this is the only name acceptable by her. Then we have Clumsy, because the woman is insanely clumsy. Nymphy, as her mother calls her. Do NOT call her this unless you want to be beat mercilessly.
Age/Birthday:
Tonks is a winter baby and she was born on November 25th (1973). She actually happens to like her birthday and her most memorable one would probably be when her and Remus spent the entire night together, even though no one else showed up, she was happy.
20 years old.
Gender:Female
Orientation: straight
Blood Status: half
Coming from a muggle born wizard, Tonks is half blood, though she doesn't put much stock into it. She's also a Black, onto which she doesn't care about either. Blood is of no importance to her.
Affiliation: order
Year/House:Hufflepuff /1983
Occupation (adults): Auror
Wand:unkown

Overall appearance: Tonks is a woman of medium height. That's nearly the only thing that doesn't change about her appearance. Naturally, her hair is brown and her face is heart shaped, ending in a pointed chin. She has a pert nose and ears that would normally be hidden by her hair. Her eyes are a muddy brown. That's not the look she goes for on a normal day, though. Normally when one sees Tonks they'll see a fit woman with an attractive angular face and shocking pink hair. The length varies. She keeps her normal nose, because she really enjoys that, but matches it with smaller ears. Her face is the only thing she really alters unless it's work related, so her body type is almost always the same. Fit, as mentioned before, and blessed with one or two curves.

Erised: Be with the man that she is fall in love.
Patronus: Tonk's patronus is actually a werewolf but it was a turtle at one point, a rather docile creature that is slow but persistent and actually pretty intelligent. The memory she carries with the animal is the day she passed her Auror exam, the proud look upon her parents faces, and showing that she could accomplish a lot if she worked at it, it's something that still brings a smile to Tonk's face.
Boggart: Tonk's boggart would probably be Remus dying, simply because it is something that is on her mind at all times and something she fears is bound to happen. Something she can't let happen and it makes her feel hopeless because of it.
Dementor:Tonks fears that her parents will get caught in the crossfire of the war and she will never see them again. She is going through great lengths to keep both her mother and father safe but unfortunately with her mothers free spirit, there is only so much she can do and she consistently worries over their wellbeing, to the point of sometimes making herself sick with fear that something will go wrong and she will lose the two most important people in her entire life.

Overall Personality: For Tonks, personality is often reflected in the way she looks. More often than not she's pink spikey haired, pale, and grinning. She's a generally happy person, with a vibrant and engaging personality. People often remark that she doesn't have the normal serious demeanor of an auror, but she doesn't think that she needs to, so long as she gets the job done. She likes to see the brighter side of things when at all possible and also likes to be the friendly face in a sea of stony looking aurors.
She was always a bit restless which led to her constant trouble making during her younger years and because of this her parents would try to channel her excess energy into positive activities. This got her into the habit of picking up odd hobbies here and at times slightly obsessing over them. Some think it's a bit odd, but those hobbies help keep her sane when work becomes overwhelming. A prime example being her tenure in France where, in her rare downtime, she learned all about the inner workings of muggle cars and can fix one without using magic if given the right parts and enough time. She's actually very proud of that.
While Tonks is prone to being pleasant most of the time, she can fall into certain moods, if upset enough, and these moods are again shown through her appearance. She's really not very good at hiding how she feels and she tends to take things very hard. Her hair will take on a mousy brown tone and hang limply against her face and it's not unusual for a few wrinkles to touch her features. These bouts of depression don't last very long usually. She forces herself over them even if things aren't completely solved, making for a somewhat hefty amount of emotional baggage that comes with the package that is Nymphadora Tonks.

History: Tonks was born to Andromeda Tonks (nee Black), a pure blood witch and Theodore Tonks, a muggle born wizard. This makes Tonks a half blood. She is related to the Blacks, and Draco Malfoy and Sirius Black are her cousins while Bellatrix and Narcissa are her aunts. Tonks is estranged from the Black side of her family, just as her mother is because of their intolerance for anything but pure blood wizards. When Tonks was eleven, she got her letter to go to Hogwarts right during the time her very distant cousin, Charlie Weasley started. Tonks was placed in the Gryffindor House because of her bravery and loyalty. She never did make it to being a prefect though because of her inability to stay out of trouble. Tonks obviously gets along very well with The Weasley Twins and probably at some points has shown them a trick or two. Tonks’ wand is a twelve inch holly and redwood with a dragon heartstring core. It is very near and dear to her, and because of her career, she must keep it by her at all times. Tonks was able to gain five N.E.W.T.S. above Exceeding Expectations during her seventh year at Hogwarts which earned her entry into the Auror program at the Ministry. It took Tonks three years to complete her Auror training. Into which she almost failed a few parts but thankfully did not because being an Auror is something she takes a huge pride in.
Found in an old box underneath some floorboards at the Tonks’ home, these files were seized by Snatchers: Fenrir Greyback and Scabior. They are being traced now to find this mud bloods whereabouts.
It’s been four days since Mad Eye’s talked to anybody. I think he’s either lost his mind or just his tolerance to listen to the same music day in and day out. I don’t blame him. The banging droll beat that Kinglsey and Remus continue to listen to to fill out the silence has been making even me fall asleep, and I entertain rather easily. I fear that Mad Eye’s psyching himself up. Like he knows something is bound to happen. Though, it’s just a simple rescue mission right? Harry Potter all alone inside the Muggle’s house. Couldn’t be too difficult, at very least it would give everyone final insight into this boy’s life. Mad Eye describes him as looking just like James Potter, though at the age of fifteen. I never met James, being as young as I was when they were murdered, but Sirius has pictures. Quite a lot actually, and ever since his break from Azkaban and his arrival at Number 12, I’ve been seeing a lot of him. It’s odd to think of Sirius being out of prison. Astonishing actually, and though I know he is innocent, I have to wonder the looks Remus sometimes gives my dear old cousin. I love Sirius dearly but he is getting all too comfortable, too reckless, something even a screw up like me sees. I wonder if Mad Eye and I should discuss that.
- June 23rd, 1995.
Today is a day of mourning. Harry Potter decided to go to the Department of Mysteries last night, a docile but dangerous place. I’m rather sore after fighting off my aunt, Bellatrix Lestrange, that crazy bitch. She cornered me for awhile before she got in a lucky strike, injuring me and rendering me unconscious. I awoke in St. Mungos with Remus and a few Order members around me. They were the ones to deliver the news. Sirius Black was killed last night at Bellatrix’s hand. The woman blinds me with hate, rage, and anger. Something that will never subside, and someday I will get her back, make her pay for taking away people, loved ones, family members away. She deserves an unforgivable curse right to the mouth. Remus was sweet though, the man stayed by my side even though we’ve been fighting for ages now, his unwillingness to see what I want, to be who I know he is. It angers me, he fears himself too old and too dangerous I know…trivial things really. The doctors here are brilliant but they’ve given me this funny colored stuff and now the room appears to be spinning, I think I am getting slee-….
- December 27th, 1995.
I’ve been stationed at Hogwarts this year. A place I haven’t been too since I graduated from my classes. Luckily I am very much up for the job, I need something to distract me. Today I picked up Harry from the train. Apparently Draco Malfoy had put a charm upon him and then broke his nose while leaving him hidden on the train. Luckily I was checking the cars when I found him. I decided to bring him up to the castle by myself, using my newly changed patronus, a large silvery werewolf, which is really no surprise, to show ourselves to Snape at the gate. Though Snape is part of the Order, there are still days where I don’t trust him. I don’t think anybody fully does but possibly Dumbledore. After this year ends, I believe it’s Harry’s sixth..then I do not know where I will be stationed, though I suspect back to Headquarters at some point. I hope. I need to speak with Remus again, the spiny bastard can not shut me out, not after what I’ve gone through. Though I am currently enraged with Dumbledore for sending him underground. It frightens me, something I’ll never actually admit, but I think Dumbledore knows that it does. Afterall, why else would he be so keen to keep me here, as if under his nose. I have the utmost respect for Dumbledore, considering that he sees me as such a trustworthy and loyal witch, which I do my best not to let him down on. I wonder how I’m doing. After the fiasco a few months ago, Mad Eye has made it a point to remind us all that our first and foremost responsibility is Harry Potter. Like we’ve all forgotten. Though he should know better, in reality we all should. It’s going to take a few more than a couple of seasoned Aurors to fight this war.
- September 1st, 1996.

Godric's Hollow was not how Tonks remembered it. Not even close. The winters she would spend with Sirius at the age of eight. A cheerful and bubbly place, filled with twinkling lights. Tonks' eight year old self ecstatic at all the magic the air possessed. Her father smiling down at her as he would pick her up and swing her over his shoulder. That Godric's Hollow was gone. The kindness and warmth of the tiny out-cove of the magical world, hidden away from others, was completely gone. Lost in the wonders of a looming war. Turned to ash in the fire of hate, and fear. Tonks hated seeing places like this going to hell. Her fingernails dug into her palm dangerously as she shook her head, clearly disappointed at the state of the place. There were no lights on, the streets filled with cracked and upturned cobblestone. No hustle and bustle on the sidewalks, even the few bars around seemed to be vacant. The church was dim and quiet, an eerie gray glow coming from the sparkling windows.
For a split second Tonks forgot herself. Forgot how obviously dangerous anywhere in the wizarding world had become and she stood in awe, of despair and frustration. The happiest damn place on earth now looked like something from an apocalypse. The thought angered Tonks. She would have sooner rather given up everything she believed in or fought for than to see something as devastating as this. It was as if the good witches and wizards were giving up hope. Now that Dumbledore was gone and Hogwarts had been corrupt, did the rest of the world not see a point? Tonks didn't know but she desperately wanted to believe in something more real, more joyous; like Harry actually destroying You-Know-How. Tonks adored the chosen one, he was a good kid and though not too much older than him, she wished she could baby him sometimes. Cradle his needs and shield the poor kid from the world that wanted so feverishly to destroy him. Though Tonks would never actually consider herself too maternal, she believed if someone deserved a try, it was Harry Potter.
Starting to walk along the cool ground, she brushed a hand through her shoulder length hair, the rust color locks mixed in with the one violet purple streak that ran down the left side of her face. It matched her shirt, and Tonks figured with all the darkness looming over the world, she needed a bit of bright in it. Placing her gloved hands over her lips for a moment, her hazel green orbs swiveled around the quiet streets. She knew she had to be quick. Nowhere was particularly safe anymore, especially not at night; which is why Tonks figured before she got herself into quite a bit of trouble she would do what needed to get done. The only problem was, finding it. Tonks had been left to stay in hiding, missing from her Auror position, and mostly hidden away from the public. She had The Order to worry about, not wanting to disappoint the memory of Albus Dumbledore and fail what needed to get done. She wouldn't have it. Couldn't have it.
This task had been sent out so long ago, Tonks was surprised she remembered it at all. Though it was simple. An easy search and capture mission. If she could find it. The item that was buried deep within the heart of Godric's Hollow. At first, Dumbledore had suggested hiding the particular piece inside of The Potter's house, but quickly ratified the idea, thinking it too disrespectful of their memories should Tonks have to destroy something in the process of getting to her goal, and for that, the woman was in awe. The amount of time Dumbledore had literally taken on making sure every single detail was perfect was a skill she could never hope to possess fully. Shaking her head at the sheer awe of such a thing, so lost in her thoughts that her boot slipped out from underneath her. Gasping out gently, her hand flew forward, grasping tightly to a peeling windowsill before managing to right herself before she fell on her face.
Relieved to have saved herself from a very familiar mishap, she brushed her hand along her face. It was no sooner than she had begun to walk again that she heard the evident sound of a twig snapping somewhere off in the distance. Instantly stopping, Tonks turned her head slowly from left to right. She had been pretty sure not thirty seconds ago that she was alone. The assurance of the thought caused her dark lacquered fingernails to devil into her pocket, retrieving her caramel colored wand. Hazel green orbs shifting, alert and ready, Tonks slowly slid her heels to the base of an abandoned house. It creaked lightly at her approach as a soft gust of wind swooped by, floating up her hair before letting it fall back down to her shoulders. Tonks waited with bated breath, keeping her back against the rotted wooden wall and kept her ears finely attuned, in case another noise alerted the presence of somebody who was not supposed to be here.
