Jayme had had a pretty rough weak. Rumors were flying all around, and her mother had gone into her depressive state of isolation once again. She'd put up a glimmer around her home, one too strong for Jayme to counter. She couldn't find her anywhere. With her father no longer alive, she had no one to run to who was having any easier a time about than she was. Her cousin had been reported dead, and even though her life had kept going, she had a feeling that not everything was going the way it seemed to be. Something was up and she was going to figure it out.
Of course her first choice of investigation partner was the heartbroken younger sister, Sawyer. She couldn't bare to bring her into this, ask her what exactly was going on. She doubted that Sawyer even knew. Sawyer didn't have that need to question something as final as death. Of course, some would say that Jayme was just in denial. After all, she and Sandrine had always been on fairly good terms. It was sad, thinking that such a driven young woman had left the world. But that was it, something inside of Jayme told her that Sandrine was still around. She could just FEEL it. Jayme sighed and lifted her hot coco to her lips, blowing on it till it was cool enough to drink. She sat down on her red couch and stared at the fire place, pondering all of this. Her new kitten, a cute little black and grey tabby she had named Chaucer, bounded up to her and curled up in her lap.
Leaning her head back, Jayme absentmindedly caressed her kitten. He squirmed and hissed at the air, as if someone was in the room with them. "What's wrong Chaucer? Are you seeing ghosts again?"

Sandrine couldn't help it. She tried and tried and tried to go along with what Isaac said, to try and see it from his point of view, but she couldn't. However, that didn't mean that she didn't understand the danger that she would be putting herself and Isaac in if she just went and announced that she was alive. It would mean almost certain death for both of them, and Sandrine wasn't really fond of dying.....at all. And as much as she hated -and she really, really did- to admit it, Sandrine didn't think she could handle Isaac dying either.
Their first solution was Isaac's little sister, Caitlyn. If they told her about them being alive, she could keep them up to date with everything; she could have been their connection to the outside world, and even if that didn't accomplish much, just knowing that someone out there knew she was alive would have put Sandrine at ease. But of course, the darn man, Moses Calmer, just wouldn't let her have anything, would he? He went and tried to kill his own fucking daughter, and now Sandrine had to put up with not only one, but two Calmers, hiding, and perfectly content with it.
But amidst trying to make sense of everything, Sandrine had forgotten about one person, the one person that she knew for sure could keep her secret, and give her that much-desired connection to the outside world. Just knowing that someone would know she was still alive would make Sandrine feel a little better, and who better than her dearest cousin Jayme, who was bound by her own weird body not to tell anyone her secret?
So earlier that day, Sandrine managed to sneak into Jayme's apartment. It was nice to know that she was still able to do things like that; for some reason, she felt less.....devious ever since Isaac saved her, and she wasn't sure she liked it. Soon enough, Jayme was here; Sandrine remained in the kitchen until her cousin got settled in, waiting for just the right moment to show herself. As Jayme's cat began to purr and hiss, fidgeting, Sandrine smirked to herself, before stepping into the living room, and standing against the wall near the kitchen door. She kept a neutral expression, as she answered her cousin's question, "Something like that." When Jayme looked at her, startled, she smirked, adding, "By the way, you need better security in this place."

Jayme was not at all surprised to see Sandrine standing before her, even though the initial reaction to someone sneaking up on you is surprise. Her startled stare became a calm, resigned gaze, and she smirked back at her cousin. She knew it. Sandrine couldn't have been dead. There was no way she'd have gone down to someone like Moses Calmer. It would probably take Amelia Cosette herself to destroy someone with such a strong spirit and will for living. Jayme relaxed back into her couch and raised an eyebrow at her cousin. "Well maybe I just figured that I was too low on the hit list these days than to actually consider myself in danger." She smiled. It was true, the Rosaire family was a huge target for pretty much every faction of the wizarding world. It all depended which side you were on.
Sandrine didn't even look close to dead. She was as healthy as ever, which puzzled Jayme. She'd read the article, she'd heard what had happened. Sandrine should at least have a scar or two, maybe still recovering from such a fight. Then again, if she was with who Jayme thought she was with, there was nothing like the power of love to heal all wounds. She calmed Chaucer and let him run over to Sandrine, sniffing her shoes. "How long have you been hiding in the shadows?" Jayme asked her, standing up and giving her a quick hug. "Do you want anything to drink? You must sit down and explain it all to me, or I won't help you." Jayme gave her a stern look. She really was being serious. She didn't want to be used, she wanted to be in the loop too!
"I hope you know how upset you've made your family, running off into hiding like this." Jayme called over her shoulder as she headed back into the kitchen. "Sawyer, you might not believe, is positively devastated." No matter how much she tries to hide it, thought Jayme. "I can't even tell you what your father is feeling right now." She pushed her dark hair from her eyes and began to brew some tea. "Now sit down and tell me what's going on."
