Again with the apologies. Caitlyn finally stopped hitting Isaac, and fell back on her own couch, her eyes shut tight. She was so tired of people apologizing for every little thing. People telling her that it wasn't her fault; people saying that she was just an 'innocent' young girl born into a chrazy, chaotic world and a dysfunctional family. Why can't anyone just let her figure stuff out on her own? Why can't she be the one to blame when something goes wrong? Caitlyn wanted to be the one responsible for something. She could have tried to fight her father before, and maybe prevented this from happening, maybe she could have done something so that Isaac wouldn't have had to fucking stab him. She could have tried to find Isaac, instead of just accepting the fact that he was dead. She could have done something, anything.
Caitlyn felt fresh tears began to pool in her eyes, and roll down her cheeks, as Isaac kept apologizing and blaming himself. She opened her eyes again, and looked at him, with a mixture of defeat and frustration, "Do you think blaming yourself for everything and apologizing to me will change anything? Do you all honestly think that's what I want to hear? You and dad and his friends at the Auror office, and Uncle Jon, and my teachers, everyone! You all think because my dad had such a lousy history, losing wives and whatever, everyone should feel bad for poor little Caitlyn! Oh, something went wrong; it's not your fault, it's ours." Caitlyn pulled her knees up against her chest, and placed her forehead against them, mumbling, "Why can't it be my fault? Why does it have to be anyone's fault!?"

Caitlyn should not have been surprised that Isaac didn't have anything else to say. She didn't really know what he would have said, or if there was really anything that he could have said or done to nake things seem any better. The brutal truth was that there really was nothing that could be done to make this situation, to make her life, any better; her father was just milliseconds away from murdering her. If that wasn't rockbottom, she really had no idea what was. Caitlyn numbly nodded when Isaac offered to get her a drink, and fell back against the couch, shutting her eyes tight.
She tried not to think about her father, or the sight that awaited Isaac, and eventaully herself, inside her very own kitchen. She couldn't help thinking of the day they checked out this apartment, when they stood in that very kitchen, talking things through. It was like every moment she ever shared with her father was playing through her head, and it killed her to think that he was gone now. Whether he was Imperius-ed or not, he was dead by now. He had to have been Imperius-ed though; he couldn't possibly be that demented, that he would want to murder her, his own daughter. And now, because of her, he was dead.
As the thought settled into Caitlyn's mind, Isaac came bursting into the living room. His expression alarmed her, and what he said scared her even more. She could only assume he meant their father; who else was here with them? Caitlyn's eyes widened, as she glanced back at the kitchen, "That's not possible. No one's been here after you.....right?" Caitlyn felt a chill go down her spine, and suddenly, she no longer felt safe in her own apartment.

Caitlyn felt her bones chilling at the look on Isaac's face. Her brother had always gone out of his way to keep her safe, but not only that. He had always tried to make sure that she at least felt safe, that he wasn't giving her the impression that anything was out of the ordinary. Yet here he was, standing in the middle of her living room, his eyes wide, his posture alert, looking around cautiously. As if her own father trying to kill her wasn;t enough to drive Caitlyn over the edge, now he's apparently got back-up, people looking out for him, making sure he survived. Or maybe they were the ones who sent him; maybe he never wanted to kill her, maybe he was indeed being controlled by someone. But who could it be? Death Eaters would have been a logical guess, but last Caitlyn heard, her father wasn't sparing their life either in his killing sprees. And it was pretty much set in stone that the Order wanted nothing to do with Moses Calmer after the Celebration Ball.
Caitlyn's train of thought was interrupted when Isaac mentioned a name she didn't think she would ever hear out of her brother's name. Sandrine Rosaire. The girl was dead; wouldn't her brother be avoiding that subject like the plague? He was her bestfriend, after all. Caitlyn looked up and Isaac, "Sandrine's dead. She died......right?" She narrowed her eyes, as she put two and two together, "Ugh, you guys suck! She faked her death too?!" Her expression changed slightly, as another realisation occured to her. "I'm going to have to do the same, aren't I?"
