Kathrin Rilow is the polar opposite of her twin, Georg. While she loves to take care of people at Mungos, and she fears losing a paitent - there are some things that, unlike Georg, she doesn't show to the world. Kathrin runs from love, she doesn't want to need somebody in her life. She feels that going into a relationship is like jumping into a pit of hungry sharks blindfolded - no one can be trusted with your heart. When she is hurt, she masks it all with anger or she just goes numb. Kathrin throws herself into her work to distract herself from the world outside of Mungos, she hates war. The thought of being caught up in the middle of one terrifies her - especially when 2/3 of the contending parties want her kind dead.
Kathrin's a bit of pessimist, in the fact that she believes the world is almost always out to get her. She is always watching her back, trying to protect herself from any one who could potentially cause her harm. She is very paranoid, afraid that something could go wrong and it could be the end of the world. Everything that goes wrong is the end of her world so far as Kathrin is concerned. When she doesn't understand something right away, she gets frustrated and angry, and tends to latch out at whoever is around. She doesn't like to be interrupted when she's working, studying, or reading.
Despite being the polar opposite of her twin, Kathrin takes care of him. She is always fearful for Georg's well being, she knows just how fragile he is and worries that one day he will literally shatter. She knows how he works, and she will always go out of her way to take care of him and protect him. In her heart of cold iron, Georg will always be her soft spot.

Born in Berlin, Kathrin and Georg eventually moved to London. At first they had plans to live together before Scott came along. She does live in the same apartment building however.

Kathrin and Georg Rilow were always rather close. Except when he would scream and get jealous because - just face it, she was a much more adorable baby then he was. Growing up, the two had a twisted sort of relationship. Between locking each other in closets, flushing the toilet while the other was in the shower, putting slimey goo in each other's beds... Well, they didn't really have time to be very close. But that was how they've always shown affection for each other. It's when Kathrin and Georg stop talking that there is cause to worry.
Kathrin was a Ravenclaw, she was close to Scott Lakeman during their early days at Hogwarts. It was through her that Scott met Georg, but past that she didn't really do much for their relationship. Sure, it was absolutly adorable, but something about watching your brother mack on his boyfriend 24/7 didn't do much for a girl. It was just disturbing, really. Still, she was always keeping an eye on Georg. At the slightest sign of heart break Scott Lakeman was dead.
When her and Georg's parents were murdered in her 5th year, Kathrin didn't shed a tear. She loved them, with all of her heart, but she knew that she had to be strong for Georg's sake. It became a pattern of hers, for Georg she'll do anything. Even sacrificing her own comfort, she wouldn't cry for him. Some nights Kathrin would sneak into the Gryffindor common room and hold Georg on the couch while he would melt against her side and cry for hours at a time.
Kathrin had started working with Mungos after leaving Hogwarts, moving in just a floor down from Scott and Georg's apartment. Life was nice, sweet, and she really couldn't have been happier until that war started back. War. Absolutly the most frustrating thing in the world. When the deaths first started, Kathrin wanted to pretend that there was nothing wrong but she just couldn't. Her greatest fear had come true, and it takes everything in her to keep strong when all her instincts are telling her to run back home and play Muggle. But she could never leave Georg. And Georg could never leave the Wizarding World.
When Scott was killed, Kathrin only wanted to cry. But she has to stay strong for Georg. She hasn't shed a single tear. No matter how much her heart is shattering the entire time. Some nights she'll sneak up to Georg's apartment and stay with him, just like she used to do in their 5th year, holding him while he sobs even in his sleep. She knows that this is killing him, and she plans to take him away from all of it. It's about time the two of them went back home, away from all the war and disaster and death. It's about time that Georg let Scott and their parents stay in the past. No matter how painful it will be for both of them.
