Theodore isn't like most Slytherins, he does hold as much prejudice as he is suppose to. He tends to find people less than pure to be bizarre yet interesting though he doesn't go out of his way to search for those type of people to bully them. However, he does dislike the poor and considers muggles to be backwards. If someone makes a comment about a mudblood and if he considers it funny enough he will smirk and maybe add a comment with his dark humour, if necessary. Deep down though, he questions if they really are inferior when some of the purest of blood can get on his nerves and muggleborns don't; he leaves himself a bit puzzled though not conflicted. Theodore values the slytherin house like most of his classmates but he is a solitary boy who has never felt compelled to join "gangs," such as the one headed by Draco.
A bookworm, that he is and looks the part. He doesn't like exercising, mostly because his lungs aren't tip top at all. In general he often looks grumpy and most of the time he is. Bitter fellow. Regardless, he usually very quiet, he isn't shy, just prefers to watch and learn from a far...where he can mumble. He can be thought of as strange as creepy by doing that, also as a stalker. Although he means well. His curiosity is what defines him as strange. he is capable of remembering a lot but mostly the smallest details that others consider insignificant. But it those details that he finds matters the most. Theodore is bright and he knows it, his mind is what he cherishes the most and lets others know of it by being arrogant. Although at times his arrogance is genuine, usually it's just a mask to hide his true insecurities. He hasn't much of self-esteem and he can be overly dramatic at times. When speaking to others he either becomes obviously nervous or very rude; the latter usually rules. He may not have a high self-esteem although he is proud of being a slytherin and being rich. Theodore can be a snob whenever he wants.
Theodore is studious, unlike most that look for fun or an adventure at all times, he does focus on work, he became part of the one of four Slytherin students who progressed to the N.E.W.T. level in Potions. He works hard in a different way, always being alone and choosing to fit in as invisible, it isn't so difficult for Theodore to get items or books in his hand, even those that he isn't suppose to have, he has many resources and will do anything to get what he wants though he is subtle.

theodore is the son of two elderly wizards, one, his father who escaped any imprisonment in azkaban and later acquired a job in the department of mysteries as an unspeakable. the other, his mother who died when theodore was 12. when daniel nott worked at the ministry, he found himself surrounded by jealousy toward his 'friends' and co-workers who were already starting on developing the heirs to their families. he too tried the same but at first his wife could not produce any children (or so he thought). but being the scheming and deceitful wizard that he was, he managed to have an affair and get another woman pregnant. it was only months later that he found out his wife was pregnant, which led to the dismissal of his mistress. he fathered a son, theodore, but before that, his daughter was born. daniel, only interested in a son to pass on the family name and bring greatness to the family did not want his daughter and tried to shoo them away. eventually, his wife glacinda found out about the affair and illegitimate daughter. heartbroken but not heartless, she forced her husband to house cordie and her mother in the neighbouring house with the threat of announcing his shame. though angry and bitter, theodore's mother could not see another be hurt by daniel nott. after that she kept herself away from him.
when theodore was about six years old he met cordelia, nearly by accident. when his father seemed disgruntled (more than usual) teddy followed him as he went to the neighbours house and had a few words with cordelia's mother. he didn't enter or tried to sneak in, the girl on the tree caught his attention and after a few impolite words and some indifferent ones, they 'met'. theodore didn't really see much of cordelia after that, other than seeing her from his window or when he'd slowly walk outside and look over at her house. but during a walk to the park with his mother, things had changed. theodore avoided the play area of the park and instead began watching ants, when cordelia had walked into the same park and they exchanged words, very short words, he found himself in a small adventure with her. leaving him with more than excitement. theodore had his first dose of fun after he was pushed into a lake and once out of the lake, he had his first friend. after that encounter, theodore would sneak off and spend his leisure time with cordelia. at times in secret, once he realised that his mother didn't like cordelia. it was at that point that his mother began to ignore him...but she had her reasons. instead of forbidding him from his only friend, she remained quiet, keeping the relationship between the two young children as silent as before. eventually, theodore found the truth however and when his father tried to send away cordelia and her mother, the young boy stood up to his father. things stayed as they were, theodore seemed to grow apart from his parents though not because of his new-found friend, his parents had their own lives and theodore was not part of it; he was just there for namesake. being from a pureblood family, theodore knew that he'd be a wizard...though he was a late bloomer; only showing signs of magical ability until he was nine. although his worries began then, he looked forward to finally attending school and being away from his father.
During his first year at hogwarts, Theodore Nott was what you'd call a 'typical slytherin' because of the way he was raised. He fit in with the other slytherins and didn't really give the other houses much time, he didn't really care about them. But as the weeks passed he noticed the way the other students reacted to bullying. not really being around other children when he was younger he seemed to take not sympathy but the idea that everyone was labelled. not wanting the same, he strayed from the others and just became himself with his own thoughts. the slytherin remained the same for the rest of his years at school, only speaking to some but hardly calling anyone his friend. anyone but his half-sister cordelia. she was his best friend, confidant and still, someone who managed to annoy him; naturally he returned the favour. Hardly finding a reason to socialise, he kept to his studies for the years to come. In the summer of his second year his mother had been killed, Theodore was stunned by his father though he didn't recognise him since it had been dark. The reasons to his mother's passing were never given an explanation though Theodore suspected it was his father's doing but out of fear of the wizard, he never asked but kept himself in distance. Some part of him had changed, he felt alone a lot more and drowned his worries and thoughts in academics. He did not want sympathy so never spoke about it, his personal life remained a mystery. Not wanting to lose anyone, Theodore kept himself from noticing anyone so was delayed in having infatuations. However there was one small passion in his life, not living, but a sport. Theodore always had an interest in quidditch and read all he could about it but since his father had thought of it as pointless, he wasn't allowed to try out

it was needless to say that the days were a lot darker, quiet and empty. theodore had noticed it during the beginning of the summer, his fears and cowardice controlled him like they did every year. nothing had really changed, not until the last weeks of august. while contemplating his possible departure from school, he was delivered a letter that was supposedly from his father. it read a change in the man, a plead for change, for redemption, reparation in their bond. it seemed promising, that was, until theodore got to the end of the letter, where his father wrote about suspicions with the ministry workers and aurors. he soon thought it wasn't odd, being imprisoned in azkaban probably made his father paranoid. but before he could get comfortable with that theory and idea of speaking to his father again, theodore was told that his father had been murdered by the ministry itself; out of fear that he'd escape and join lord voldemort. hearing those words he was murdered, they murdered him, theodore squared his shoulders and lowered his brows with anger he had not felt in such a while. vulnerable, he immediately believed the lie instead of doing any real research, or else he would've known that his father had died of old age. he found out later however, but only after days in which his anger and bitterness had completely absorbed him. by the time he heard the ministry's side, he was completely consumed and believed no word of theirs. he began to change and spent his time cursing his life, his inability to understand that his father had been right all along with his teachings. it drove theodore mad, that he could be so stupid. it all just added to his solitary misery.
he soon started talking to the few paintings in his home. the paintings had always moved but never spoke. now his father's images began to mutter, at least theodore thought so. a curious gleam began to show in the paintings as theodore displayed disbelief in himself and his way of life. shortly after giving into gloom like he had done so many times before, he miraculously had stood tall and ended his sulking. now when he spoke, he no longer was nervous, he didn't slouch and didn't fear going to school anymore.
many sleepless days followed, every single noise in the house sounded heavy but theodore seemed to enjoy it. the days with rain and thick fogs were taken in much better than before. he was happy, in a stranger way than usual, things turned better for him when he received yet another owl, this one informing him of his new title. head boy, he kept announcing it proudly with a broad smile. his heart tilted every time from its decline. he looked forward to school now, to punish those that always broke the rules and those that upset him. he would expel a jeering laugh whenever he thought of it. now they'll all learn he would say, about his new status.
paying mind to the fact that he had not prepared for school, theodore decided to pick up his school books, new robes and other things he needed. now being able to apparate, he did so in hogsmeade. the dead appearance of the street pleased him, even whispers had him smirk, for he no longer thought they were whispers about how he might have been strange, now he thought they were out of fear. it's fun getting used to this he thought to himself as he walked. theodore even wore his glasses, because of the sleepless nights, his eyesight was faint. but he wasn't embarrassed, now an air of confidence followed him closely. anyone who naively thought they knew theodore before would've realized they knew very little now.
as he tried to remember how many quills he had left and then trying to tally how many of those quills hadn't been broken from constant biting, theodore realized that he needed a new set of quills. he pushed the door open and stared at those that were near without smiling; though he never smiled before anyway. he sought the coloured quills, he wanted ones with a dark brown colour. it didn't take him long to find the perfect set. he smiled to himself and turned around, instead of facing a clear path a girl had collided with him. he lost his step and was pushed back, oh yes, he was still quite scrawny and ill-looking. with a small growl, he tried to stand up and pick up his box of quills at the same time. "don't you have eyes" he spat and finally got up. his eyes searched for the profile of the girl, he recognized her in a matter of seconds. "Oh it's her" he thought miserably to himself. he had 'met' the girl in school, not in good terms at all, under false incriminating ones. she thought he was one of the slytherins that had tossed something at her, though he claimed otherwise. "don't answer, i know that you're eyes don't work properly" he said flatly
