Cruel, cold and heartless would be a good start to describing Draco Malfoy. He goes around, acting full of himself, chin held high, with his two cronies, Crabbe and Goyle right next to him, ready to do the dirty work if he happened to get into a fight. Because he's a bit of a coward really, finding it difficult to have a physical fight with someone. He's all talk, but really? He's too big for his own boots. Still, he wouldn't want to harm his pretty face. He's harsh to a lot of people, finding himself more superior to a majority of the students at Hogwarts. To make friends with you, you'd have to be pureblood, Slytheirn, and all that. He learnt from his parents, and he sticks by his parents rules, with a few exceptions, here and there. He's a Malfoy though, it's in his nature, being cold, argumentitive and a suck-up to Snape. His temper can be flicked at only the tiniest of things, and his often sparked by Potter and his friends, Weasley and Granger.
Despite all that, Draco can be - wait for it - nice. To his parents, to Bellatrix, to his friends and Pansy, somtimes. He's hard-working, and ambitious. Once he's started on something, he doesn't stop until the job is done. He's fairly studious. I mean, he's no Ravenclaw or anything, but has so far done well in his exams, purely by hard work. According to Draco, not many of the teachers teach well. He's wary of girls, though hasn't actually been in a long relationship. Pansy seems to want that, though, and it annoys him. To the people he likes, Draco isn't all that bad. Unless, of course, you asked Harry Potter, but no one cares what he thinks - or at least Draco doesn't seem to.

Malfoy Manor and Hogwarts

Draco was born on a warm, summer evening to Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, the second child, after Delinda. Delinda didn't seem to like not being an only child anymore, and Draco knew it from a very young age. Still, as if a child of only eighteen months cared about what his older sister thought. He was still the newest and liked to think his parents liked him better, being a boy who could carry on the family name and everything. That's what Draco was taught since he was little - pride, prejudice and pureblood. Well, not exactly, but his parents were big about things like that, being Malfoy's. And Draco's life was all very simple. He could stand their and smirk, watch his older sister throw tantrums because now he was in the family, and she wasn't the only child. Life was good, he got spoilt by his father and cherished by his mother. Until Draco turned four, of course.
Well, he didn't stop getting spoilt, or cherished, for that matter. But Delinda seemed to think it would be funny to go and make him swim in the lake behind the house. The thing was, Draco couldn't swim. He almost drowned, and if it wasn't for his father, he most probably wouldn't be around anymore. Honestly, making a four year try and swim when it was blatantly obvious they couldn't? Draco thought it was low. Still, while spluttering and shivering, being nursed by his mother, he was sure he heard a whack, and when Delinda didn't speak for three days, he couldn't help but smirk when he saw her, even though he was just four years old. Then she started talking and eating again, and Draco thought that she was favoured again. Needless to say, he was annoyed by this, and most of his other relatives were in Azkaban, it seemed, so he couldn't go to them. He just had to suffer, not favoured anymore. He wasn't a drama queen, he just liked being noticed and impressing people.
He grew up, and after what seemed like an age, Delinda finally got her Hogwarts letter, and she was packed up and sent to school. That meant Draco was an only child for two years, not counting holidays and such. This appealed to him, and while his sister had to study at school, he enjoyed the luxuries of being the only child in the house. His father taught him how to play Quidditch, and he loved swooping around. He liked to think he was destined to play Seeker, and would be the best ever to come to Hogwarts. (Little did he know that this dream would be crashed by Potter later on). After a short while, it seemed, Draco too was off to Hogwarts, trunk filled with new robes and a sleek, shiny wand, a female tawny owl named Artemis, and bag loads of sweets. He met Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, who seemed to work as friends, as Harry Potter wouldn't make friends with the amazing Malfoy.
In his first year, well, he was majorly annoyed. He wasn't the only first year on the Quidditch team, Potter was. He wasn't the one everybody liked (minus Slytherins), Potter was. So Draco, in an instant, decided that he hated him, and his Blood Traitor and Mudblood friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Then he went off and got a detention with them, with that Half-Breed idiot, Hagrid. It sucked. He was scared silly, but didn't mention it. And to end it all, Slytherin had won the house cup... when Gryffindor had to go from fourth to first. The urge to scream at that point was strong. In his second year, he made the Quidditch team, as Seeker. Weasley tried to hex him, but it didn't work. And Potter seemed to get revenge by winning the Slytherin v Gryffindor match. It wasn't Draco's fault, of course. It never was. The Chamber of Secrets was open though. His father knew about this, but didn't say. But guess who won the cup again, and defeated the monster that was killing of Mudbloods. (To Draco's like, of course.)
In his third year, pug-faced Pansy Parkinson started to show interest in him. Liking attention, he showed slight interest back to her, and now he still has to put up with the girl. It was a bad mistake. He was also savagely attacked by some monster Hippogriff, which was all Hagrid's doing. It almost killed him, it broke his arm and he very nearly died. Gryffindor won the cup again, which annoyed Draco again. In his fourth year was the first Triwizard Tournament in years. No one in Slytherin was picked, and the Hogwarts Champion was Cedric Diggory, a pointless Puff. Then Harry Potter somehow got picked, and Draco thought up 'Potter Stinks' badges. He wasn't supporting Potter, even if Diggorry was in Hufflepuff. Cedric died, Harry won, and his father dedicated the summer to telling him about the Dark Arts.
Now in his fifth year, Draco is ready to take his OWL's. He is studying hard, even though there's trouble at home.

Alright, it was a bad idea right from the begining, but Marietta couldn't help the fact she was bored. She'd been harmlessly wandering around the school, being careful not to be caught by any teachers, and now she was stuck in some passage. And she had no clue how to get back to the Ravenclaw Common Room, and that was a great shame, because that was where she should have been, not in a secret passage. She was also starting to think the hot pink killer heels weren't a good idea. It wasn't a good idea to steal them from the wardrobe full of clothes and shoes that her mother never wore, and wearing them now. Her feet were aching, if you put it simply. She sighed, and touched her pocket, making sure her wand was still there. She didn't know what could come around the corner, and what if a Slytherin bursted out from no where, ready to hex her? She needed to be prepared. There wasn't even anywhere to sit, and it was all in all, a damp musty place, and she was lost. But she'd had an arguement with Cho anyway, about the heels, so she didn't want to go back, not yet anyway. Walking over to the wall, she brushed some dust off of it, and used a cleaning spell on it. Happy with the achievment, she leant back against it, and was soon bored. But it was easily fixed. "Accio Pride and Prejudice!" she called out, and her favorite book came flying at her.
She was soon buried deep into the book, pages flipping quickly as she read them. Reading was something Marietta loved to do, being a Ravenclaw and all that, so she didn't realize that there was only one small window letting in only a small beam of light, and also that it was growing dark. Not until the room was on the verge of being pitch black. She gasped, and quickly said the spell Lumos, and watched the light glow from her wand. It was cold now, as well. She blinked, as horror tales started to project in her head. "Now, Marietta, you're just being silly. You just have to find the exit, and then you can go and make up with Cho," she whimpered helplessly to herself. She was scared of the dark, and only people close to her knew it, but she was still terrified. She moved her wand around, but couldn't see any door. She couldn't remember where she'd came in, either. She looked at the window, and saw it wasn't too high up. Being pretty skinny and not very curved, she could maybe fit through. Not with the mini stillettos though. Looking sadly at her pink shoes, she took them off, and stuffed her wand in her pocket. It was really dark now. She heaved herself up the wall, and banged her head on the wall. Needless to say, she fell straight back down. She felt a warm trickle of blood ooze down her arm, and she sniffed, taking out her wand again. It was still glowing, a bright yellow light shining out of the tip of her wand. It made her feel a tiny bit better, but not a lot.
Stuffing her shoes back on her feet, Marietta thought of a way out. And the only way out was to wait for someone to open the door. Which no one was going to do, she was sure of it. So she was stuck in there until morning. The thought of spiders and mice scurrying around made her scream, and she quickly brushed herself and her hair. Wishing she could make her wand brighter, she stood around, wiping the blood off her arm. It left a big orange smudged mark down her arm, and she couldn't cover it up, because her blue jacket was short. And it wasn't doing a good job of keeping her warm either, because she was shivering. The urge to burst into tears was strong, and she squeezed her eyes shut, sniffing. She was pretty helpless now, and no spell to help her would come to her mind. It was a problem with Marietta, when scared, she was doubtful and wimpy and completely stupid and if He-Who-Should-Not-Be-Named was really coming back, like Dumbledore and Harry Potter said, well being scared wasn't a good quality, it wasn't a good quality at all. Because if he came knocking at her door, and tried to kill her (him or his Death Eaters), she couldn't just stand around and cry like a baby, she had to hex him before he could do anything. If it was true, of course, which it probably wasn't.
Trying to pull herself together, Marietta tucked her red curls behind her ears, and gave one last sniff. Her wand still giving off a beam of light, she shone it around like this Muggle item called a torch, and kept a beady eye on things. All she had to do was wait for someone to come, and there was lots of pranksters and people who knew every creak and corner of Hogwarts. She hoped for Fred and George Weasley, a couple wanting for some 'privacy' or even a teacher- she didn't care anymore. As long as she was out of the small passage, she really didn't care, even if she got a week's worth of detentions. Well, preferably Professor Flitwick would find her, and not Snape or McGongall, because they were quite tough with students outside of their own houses. Especially Snape. Never mind a week's worth, she'd be cleaning his office and the Potions class out for the rest of her life at Hogwarts. And she still hadn't made up with Cho... what if she told on her? They shared a dorm, and everyone would notice that she was gone. Well, maybe they'd think she was with a guy, but students weren't supposed to go in other dorms. She'd been in trouble because of Cho, and she knew it. Sighing, she surveyed the room again, waiting for someone to find her.
